(Don't mind the fact that I am writing this about an hour before Christmas Eve happens)
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and if I have to be honest, personally
I don't feel ready for Christmas to be here. Like I feel like I hadn't had time to put myself in that "Christmas Spirit", even when shopping for presents it felt more of a "job" than something fun to do. But I mean, I don't feel ready spiritually either. I kinda wanna blame finals on this... but I mean we all love to have something to point our fingers at... don't we. But today I was at evening mass and the priest said something about getting your spirt ready for Jesus to come... and when we feel that we "don't have time", then how can we expect to be any different than the versions of ourselves from years before. I don't know why this struck me, but for some reason it did.
I think it struck me mainly because I always hear people saying, "I don't like ____ about my life". And when you hear that, you can't help but want to help... and you never know how. But now, I kinda feel that when you don't like something about your life, you can't have someone or something else change it. You have to spiritually get yourself prepared in order for a new chapter of your life to start. Why drag the sorrows of the past into the clean white pages of tomorrow?
You know what I mean? So this Christmas time, if you do celebrate Christmas, try to get yourself spiritually ready for Christ to be born. And after December 24/25, get yourself ready for a new year with a new opportunity to start fresh. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, try to take this advice and apply it to your new year. Try to start fresh, we all need clean air to breathe.
This post made 100% no sense, don't worry, I am well aware of that fact. But it is almost midnight and I kinda just wanted to get this typed out so that I can look back at it in the future. What do you think about the future? I would love to know!
